With friends like this …

I suppose Geraldine Smith thought she was being helpful and loyal to Gordon Brown, when she spoke out against David Miliband today.

Speaking on BBC Radio 4′s The World At One, Smith said, “What has David Miliband ever achieved, apart from furthering his own career? If David Miliband was placed back on the backbenches, then I think he’d become the non-entity that he was before his accelerated promotion.”

The problem for Brown is that he placed Miliband into one of the top jobs in the Government. If Miliband is a non-achieving nonentity, what does that say for Brown’s own judgement?

The biggest laugh of the week was provided by Bob Marshall-Andrews, who called for Miliband to be sacked for his ‘duplicitous’ disloyalty. That’s the same Bob Marshall-Andrews who showed such loyalty to the previous leader of the Labour Party, not.

This blog suffered a catastrophic loss of data at the end of 2009. I am restoring as many posts as possible as time allow, but comments are missing.
