Finally you can ‘Listen Again‘ to the breakfast bust-up between BBC 5 Live’s Nicky Campbell and blogger Guido Fawkes, aka Paul Staines (starts at 01:07:50). This morning’s show failed to appear as expected on the web site and has only recently been uploaded.

The interview starts with Campbell introducing Guido/Paul as ‘the right-wing political blogger’,

Guido: Nice to be on the left-wing BBC this morning.

Campbell: Yes it’s nice to have a fascist on. Good morning. Now what … <<laughs nervously>> Just joking …

Guido: Thank you Nicky. Can you take it back please now Nicky. No, take that back

Campbell: <<laughs nervously again>> I do take it back. Of course I take it back.

Guido: I’m absolutely insulted that you said that.

Campbell: Well it’s not a left wing BBC. Now what’s a fair way of getting this resolved …

Guido: Hold on a second, Nicky. You called me a right wing blogger: I’m calling you a left wing BBC journalist – let’s leave it at that now, shall we?

Campbell: OK, OK fair enough …

At the interview Campbell again apologises, saying

Listen, good talking to you. Sorry about my comment to you at the beginning.

Now was that so awful we couldn’t have ‘heard it again’ earlier? Still nowhere near as delicious a piece of broadcasting as the Eric Pickles Question Time debacle, though.
