Do you think I’ll come out more educated than I went in?

So here I am, shut up in a hospital room for a week. I’ve got my laptop and BlackBerry, but i’ve also brought plenty of reading matter to try to stave off the boredom, so on top of my locker I have several books which I have started, but am nowhere near finishing:

No politics – I’m getting that from the web.

That does sound rather educating. The Undercover Economist is good, but the best of the “popular economics” books is also one of the earliest: Steven Landsburg, The Armchair Economist http://www.amazon.co.uk/Armchair-Economist-Economics-Everyday-Life/dp/1847395252/ (Though I think his chapter on environmentalism is unnecessarily dismissive the rest is excellent.)

May I also shamelessly plug my LDV post on why Lib Dems should support free schools? It comes with an eight-page evidence review attached :) I thought you might be interested from some of your previous blogposts on schools.

    And get well soon!

Impressive! I’m amazed you can concentrate on all of that given what you are going though. I’m looking forward to reading the reviews.

Data loss

This blog suffered a catastrophic loss of data at the end of 2009. I am restoring as many posts as possible as time allow, but comments are missing.

Why I am a Liberal Democrat

The Liberal Democrats exist to build and safeguard a fair, free and open society, in which we seek to balance the fundamental values of liberty, equality and community, and in which no-one shall be enslaved by poverty, ignorance or conformity.
