Community Centre gets the dosh

Delighted that the Abbots Langley Community Centre have tonight been awarded a grant of £70,000 from Three Rivers District Council, together with £60,000 (half) of the Section 106 funding from the Ovaltine development.*

Together with a grant of £25,000 from Abbots Langley Parish Council awarded last week, it means that a total of £155,000 for the refurbishment of the Community Centre has been supplied by the local councils, with the Community Centre putting in £67,000.

Rather disappointed to hear the Conservatives’ Leisure spokesman stating last night that ‘Too much money was being spent in the Abbots Langley area’. Just because it’s more than 14 years since you’ve had a councillor here, there’s no need to be vindictive :-(

* The other half will hopefully be spent on a community facility for Primrose Hill.

This blog suffered a catastrophic loss of data at the end of 2009. I am restoring as many posts as possible as time allow, but comments are missing.
