Born in north London, I’ve lived in Abbots Langley since 1992. Married to Matthew since 1993, we have one daughter.
Apart from my family, I have two great loves:- politics and sport. I joined the Liberal Party as a student back in the 1980s, after involvement in anti-racist and civil liberties groups. I have been a member of the LibDems Federal Executive and Conference committees and was National Chair of the LibDems Youth organisation (now Liberal Youth) from 1990-92. I’ve also been a parliamentary candidate on two occasions.
I’ve been a Three Rivers District Councillor since 1996 and am also an Abbots Langley Parish Councillor, a school governor at the local primary school which our daughter attended and a youth group leader at the village church.
I am a third generation season ticket holder for the glorious Gunners. My family all come from Islington, so we’re not a bunch of glory hunters! In my youth, I was quite a successful swimmer and also a football referee for many years. I also love cricket (I used to play that too) and used to watch Middlesex CCC all over the country.
In my spare time, I am a keen cook and you will occasionally find my recipes posted on my blog.
